Copaken Brooks Announces Three New Restaurants at AdventHealth Campus in Lenexa City Center

 In Press

Lenexa, Kansas – Copaken Brooks is excited to announce three new restaurant concepts coming to the AdventHealth Campus at Lenexa City Center. Five Four (formerly 54th Street), Urban Egg, and Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill will each bring unique flavors and dining experiences to the growing campus, with openings scheduled between 2026 and 2027.

The restaurants will complement the recently opened AdventHealth Lenexa City Center campus, which brings world-class healthcare and wellness services to the community. The state-of-the-art facility offers emergency care, outpatient services, advanced imaging, and physician offices, all designed to provide compassionate, whole-person care in the heart of Lenexa. By combining health services with vibrant dining and retail, the campus is primed to quickly become a central hub for the surrounding community.

“This expansion highlights our commitment to creating a true community gathering place,” said Sissel Jacob, President and CEO of AdventHealth Lenexa City Center. “With Five Four, Urban Egg, and Stoney River, our campus is becoming more than just a place for world-class healthcare—it’s a place to gather, connect, and enjoy life.”

Five Four will introduce the newest prototype of the Kansas City-based restaurant brand (formerly 54th Street), featuring a 10,000-square-foot standalone building with both indoor dining and an outdoor games area. This will be Five Four’s ninth metro location and second in Johnson County, opening Fall 2026 on the east side of Scarborough, just north of 87th Street. Ferguson Properties represented Five Four in the transaction.

“After more than 30 years as 54th Street, we’re thrilled to launch the next generation of our brand here in Lenexa,” said Michael Norsworthy, CEO of Five Four. “Five Four represents an exciting evolution, offering the same great food Kansas City has loved for decades, but with a fresh look and new experiences that make it a true gathering place for the community.”

Urban Egg, a Colorado-founded breakfast and brunch concept with 11 locations across CO, OK, and KS, is expanding its Kansas City presence with a 3,400-square-foot restaurant at 8669 Scarborough Street. Known for fresh, locally sourced ingredients and chef-driven menus, the Lenexa location is slated to open in late 2026. Urban Egg was represented by The Retail Group out of Colorado in lease negotiations.

Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill, an upscale steakhouse owned by SPB Hospitality, will make its Kansas City debut at 8687 Scarborough Street in an 8,000-square-foot space. Known for hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, handcrafted cocktails, and polished hospitality, the restaurant is expected to open in early 2027. SPB Hospitality’s portfolio includes nationally recognized brands such as J. Alexander’s, with Stoney River representing its high-end steakhouse experience. Tenant representation for the lease was provided by Pace Properties.

“Lenexa City Center offers the ideal setting to introduce Stoney River to Kansas City,” said Bob Fargo, Senior Vice President of Development for SPB Hospitality. “With its mix of healthcare, retail, office, and residential uses, the campus reflects the type of thriving, all-day environment where our upscale dining concept can flourish. We’re proud to bring the Stoney River experience—already beloved in markets across the country—to a community that values quality and connection.”

As the developer for these projects at Lenexa City Center, Copaken Brooks is continuing to expand the district. Five Four will occupy a standalone building designed to highlight its new prototype. Urban Egg and Stoney River will be located within a new mixed-use building at the northeast corner of 87th Street and Scarborough, which Copaken Brooks will begin constructing in October 2025. The building will total approximately 24,000 square feet and is scheduled to deliver in 2026, bringing additional dining, retail, and office space to City Center. Office space located above the ground-floor restaurants is now available for lease, with Copaken Brooks’ Molly Crawford and John Coe leading the leasing efforts.

“This is a significant step forward in AdventHealth’s vision for the AdventHealth Campus, bringing best-in-class dining options to Lenexa City Center,” added Erin Johnston, Senior Vice President of Retail Brokerage at Copaken Brooks, who represented the landlord in all three transactions. “We are confident that these restaurants will serve as a magnet for the community, enhancing the overall experience for residents, professionals, and visitors.”

The addition of Five Four, Urban Egg, and Stoney River continues to strengthen Lenexa City Center’s dynamic mix of retail, dining, healthcare, and entertainment, creating an attractive and walkable destination for the region.
