Team Behind Roots Seasonal Cuisine to Open new Concept, The Fold, at Corrigan Station in the Crossroads Arts District

 In Press

Kansas City, Missouri — Copaken Brooks is pleased to announce that The Fold, a new American restaurant concept from the team behind Roots Seasonal Cuisine in Lee’s Summit, will open at Corrigan Station, located at 1828 Walnut Street in the heart of the Crossroads Arts District. The Fold will take over 6,072 square feet in the former Corvino restaurant space, just one street east of the KC Streetcar stop at 19th and Main Streets.

Todd Richards, bar manager for Roots, along with Amanda Accurso and Brandon Sharp, owners of Roots, are partners in The Fold, which will offer a wide range of culinary options.

“While we are going to be really thoughtful about our food … our main goal is to build a stronger sense of community,” owner Todd Richards said. “While we are kind of elevated in dining, we still want it to be a place where you can kind of hang out at.”

The restaurant is scheduled to open on May 22, 2026.

The Fold’s name reflects the restaurant’s vision of being a welcoming place for people from all walks of life. Guests will feel comfortable whether they are dressed up for a date night or coming in casual, with no dress code required. The space will feature impressive finishes, but the overall atmosphere is meant to feel luxurious without being pretentious.

“We are excited to welcome The Fold to Corrigan Station,” said Jon Copaken, Principal at Copaken Brooks. “This team has a track record of exceptional hospitality, and their new concept will be a great addition to the Crossroads and the overall experience of the project.”

“The Fold brings a unique and thoughtful dining experience to one of the city’s most vibrant districts,” added Kassie Murphy, Senior Retail Associate at Copaken Brooks. “Their vision aligns beautifully with the energy of Corrigan Station and the broader Crossroads community.”

Corrigan Station remains one of Kansas City’s marquee mixed-use office destinations, home to tenants, such as: Johnny Lighting Strikes Again; Merge West Inc; RGN-MCA Kansas City; Ernst & Young U.S. LLP; Holmes, Murphy & Associates; and Hollis + Miller Architects. The Fold’s arrival adds a new culinary anchor to this highly activated, walkable district.

Office and retail space remain available at Corrigan Station I and II. For more information contact the leasing team at Copaken Brooks.
