BIOGRAPHY
Eric Lester joined Copaken Brooks in 2023 as an Investment Analyst, bringing nearly a decade of experience across all facets of the commercial real estate industry. In his role, Eric supports the underwriting and analysis of development and acquisition projects across the firm’s portfolio. He works directly with leadership in development, asset management, and finance to evaluate deal structures, coordinate due diligence, and build financial models that underpin strategic decision-making.
Eric’s responsibilities include preparing investment memos and financial presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners, supporting the completion of TIF and CID applications, and maintaining relationships with lenders, brokers, and third-party consultants. His ability to synthesize complex data and communicate it clearly enables Copaken Brooks to have successful projects throughout the Midwest and Central U.S.
Prior to joining Copaken Brooks, Eric served as a Senior Financial Analyst at Maxus Realty Trust, where he led the underwriting of investments and coordinated the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate assets. He was instrumental in closing high-profile deals across multifamily, retail, industrial, and office sectors, and played a key role in the disposition of a $1.5 billion portfolio. Eric’s contributions included sourcing new investments, structuring and negotiating contracts, managing lender relationships, and presenting opportunities to the board and investment committee. His earlier career includes roles as a Financial Analyst at Maxus Properties and as a Fund Accountant at State Street Corporation, where he gained deep experience in fund operations and compliance. Eric is highly skilled in Excel, ARGUS, and real estate financial modeling, and is known for his attention to detail, strategic thinking, and relationship-building capabilities.
