As Executive Vice President of Operations at Copaken Brooks, Annemijn Steele brings a strategic and people-centered approach to leadership. She is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and co-leads the Leadership Committee alongside Brett Brase, Executive Vice President of Finance and Asset Management. Together, they guide the execution of firmwide initiatives established by the Executive Committee. She oversees Information Technology, Human Resources, Marketing, and office operations, ensuring that the firm’s purpose and vision are carried forward in every initiative. She leads and manages internal and external teams, department goals, and companywide initiatives with a focus on resilience, curiosity, and adaptability in a rapidly changing business environment.

Her leadership combines creative vision with operational excellence. From designing cross-team marketing strategies that drive new business, to guiding office operations that support long-term growth, Annemijn plays a key role in shaping how Copaken Brooks impacts both clients and the community. She is committed to ensuring the firm is recognized not only for real estate deals and developments, but also for its contribution to the vitality of Kansas City neighborhoods.

Annemijn’s career at Copaken Brooks has been defined by growth and innovation. She advanced from Marketing Manager to Director of Marketing and Technology, then to Vice President of Administration and Marketing, before taking on her current role. Along the way, she successfully repositioned the company as a full-service provider, strengthened its brand presence in local and national media, and developed marketing campaigns that supported both property transitions and downtown Kansas City’s economic development.

A former NCAA Division I tennis player at the University of Missouri, Annemijn brings discipline, tenacity, and teamwork into every aspect of her work. Her dedication and impact have earned her the company’s CB STAR award twice, reflecting her ability to inspire teams, deliver results, and strengthen Copaken Brooks’ legacy as a community-driven leader in real estate.
