Kansas City, Mo. — After a search for space, Hughes Hubbard & Reed, LLP (HHR) has selected Town Pavilion for its Kansas City office.

The New York City-based, international law firm will be relocating from its prior office at 2345 Grand to a 12,720-square-foot space on the 17th floor of Town Pavilion. The firm is looking to relocate in January of 2022.

Hughes Hubbard & Reed has been ranked No. 1 in the United States on the American Lawyer’s A-List for numerous years of what the magazine calls it’s “top firms among the nation’s legal elite.” The Kansas City office will house a team of lawyers and specialized medical and scientific analysts, whom have litigated cases in state and federal courts across the country and have significant experience in large-scale, multi-defendant litigation.

Among other amenities, Town Pavilion appealed to HHR with its new renovations, top-notch building security, panoramic city views and proximity to the streetcar.

“We found that Town Pavilion’s vibrant downtown environment was a perfect fit for our firm’s culture and our workspace needs,” said HHR’s Kansas City Managing Partner David Woods. “Our new location will continue to allow us to better serve current and future clients while strengthening our commitment to downtown Kansas City.”

Town Pavilion’s recent “art-focused upgrade” features several aesthetic improvements and new finishes. Improvements have dramatically transformed the building’s rotunda, lobby and common areas with several new additions, including a staffed concierge center, upgraded retail storefronts, art-driven video walls, museum-like artwork throughout the first floor, and upgraded security features and equipment. The renovated first floor oasis additionally offers restaurants, a coffee shop, a bank, a FedEx store location and a convenience store.

Anne Erickson and Greg McCavera of JLL represented HHR while Copaken Brooks’ Senior Vice President, Ryan E. Biery, SIOR, represented Town Pavilion.

“We’re very excited to welcome Hughes Hubbard & Reed as Town Pavilion’s newest marquee tenant,” Biery said. “Town Pavilion continues to offer an energetic and collaborative workplace for some of Kansas City’s best and brightest businesses, and HHR will make a strong addition to our tenant roster.”

Town Pavilion offers floor plan options to accommodate small and large tenants ranging from 1,200 SF to 60,000 SF. The 34-story office tower provides two parking garages connected with skywalks, rare to the availability in the downtown market.
