Copaken Brooks has been engaged as Development Consultant by Aspen Square Inc., the new owner of the Corbin Park development project in Overland Park, Kansas. The development will be renamed Aspen Square under the new ownership.

High-tech HQ leaving suburbs for downtown
DSI, a global high-tech software company in Overland Park, is moving its headquarters and 150 employees to downtown Kansas City. It’s believed to be the first significant suburban company to make the switch downtown since a multi-billion-dollar revival began a decade ago. The firm said it thought a downtown location would boost the recruiting of younger and more tech-savvy employees.

USDA: 'Locally grown' food a $4.8 billion business
A new U.S. Department of Agriculture report says sales of "local foods," whether sold direct to consumers at farmers markets or through intermediaries such as grocers or restaurants, amounted to $4.8 billion in 2008. That's a number several times greater than earlier estimates, and the department predicts locally grown foods will generate $7 billion in sales this year.
