Upcoming FASB/IASB Changes to Lease Accounting Standards
The United States Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) initiated a joint project to develop a new approach to lease accounting to ensure that assets and liabilities arising under leases are recognized in the Statement of Changes in Financial Position as stated in the FASB Proposed Accounting Standards Update of Topic 840 dated August 17, 2010.
